The Green family set out for New England sometime after the January 1639 baptism of son Henry in Toppesfield. Evidence from adeposition by Thomas in 1662 suggests that the Greens were living in Lynn on the farm of Lady Moodey as early as 1644. Thomas Green's family settled comfortably in Malden by 1649. Thomas Green's opinions were respected in Malden, and he was often elected to serve on the county's grand jury. He was frequently a Malden selectman, beginning in December of 1653. - excerpts from "The ancestry of Eva Belle Kempton, 1878-1908" |
