Mrs. Mary Kate (Rice) Beckley died at her home in Bedford, Friday, July 11. She was born at Wrightsville, Dec. 27, 1866, a daughter of Rev. John M. and Hanna Mary (Zeigler) Rice. She was married to William J. Beckley, March 5, 1888. Her husband preceded her in death. Surviving are three children: Mrs. Edwin S. James, Everett; Mrs. Marguerite B. Smith, Bedford; Ray E. Beckley, Audobon, N. J.; two brothers, William Rice, Altoona; Frank Rice, East Stroudsburg and four sisters: Mrs. Lillie M. Gump, Bedford; Mrs. Ellie Eyeler, Atlantic City, N. J.; Mrs. Bertha Andre, Stroudsburg, and Mrs. Nettie O'Donnell, New York City. Membership in the Trinity Lutheran church. Services at the church, Rev. M. J. Ross officiating. Interment in the Bedford cemetery under the direction of the Barefoot funeral home.
