Raymond F. Burke, 93, of Villas, N.J., formerly of Swarthmore, died Oct. 27 at home.
Born in Westfield, Mass., he was a resident of Swarthmore for 60 years before moving to Villas three months ago. He graduated from Massachusetts State College.
He retired in 1975 as a writer and editor for Boeing Vertol Co. Later, he ran a bicycle repair shop in his garage for 25 years.
He was a member of Chamber Memorial Presbyterian Church in Rutledge, the Players Club of Swarthmore and Boeing Management Association. He also was a loan officer for the Boeing Credit Union.
He was the widower of Helen R. "Becky" Cunningham Burke, the father of the late John R. Burke, the grandfather of the late Timothy Murray and the son of the late John and Alice LaPerle Burke.
Survivors: Son, Roger Burke of Villas, N.J. daughters, Kathleen Doerr of Jupiter, Fla., and Alice Murray of Washington Crossing, Pa. brother, Robert Burke of East Brunswick, N.J. sister, Rita Bowler of Massachusetts five grandchildren one great-granddaughter.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Chambers Memorial Presbyterian Church, Morton and Sylvan avenues, Rutledge.
