Ezra’s Mother died when he was two weeks old, from burns when her dress caught fire from an open, outdoor fire to heat "wash water." His great-aunt came to live with his father but said she couldn’t live with a newborn baby. He went to live with his aunt Mary (McCrum) Dressler - who he always considered his parents.@S195@S30@S194@S22@
