A letter from Mrs. B. F. Rollins, a granddaughter of St. Johnsbury, dated 1905, says he was an only child and that his father left him when he was only eight years old, and that his mother married a man named Morrison. She died after the family came to Danville and was not buried in the familt burying ground, but she and Lewis, son of Samuel, were buried close together, with no marker to mark the place.
