A Civil War Veteran who belonged to the “Pennsylvania Bucktails,” the 149th Pennsylvania Infantry (company B). Fought at the Battle of Gettysburg.

Company B was organized out of Clearfield County, PA.

He joined as a private on August 26, 1862. He was wounded at Weldon Railroad, Va., August 21, 1864; transferred to Veteran Reserve Corps, date unknown.

This was the second fighting group known as the “Pennsylvania Bucktails”... aka the second bucktails, or new bucktails.

Moved to Minnesota after Rebecca’s death, remarried, and had second family.
