Surviving are five children, Mrs. Thelma Kauffman, with whom she resided, Ralph of Greenwood, Mrs. Jennie Ritchey of Juniata, Mrs. Grace Bryner and Frank of Birch Harbor, ME: nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was one of the oldest members of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Juniata, a member of the Mizpah Bible Class. He was a retired yard brakeman for the Pennsylvania railroad, retiring in 1936 after more than 47 years service. He was born Dec. 2, 1871, at Belleville, the son of Rev. John and Hannah (Zeigler) Rice. Surviving are his wife, Daisy (Kelly) Rice, to whom he was married Jan. 22, 1895, in the First Lutheran church by Rev. Weigle. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, Jan. 22, 1945.
