She was born in Adams County Oct 16, 1873, a daughter of Edward W. and Mary Ellen (Zeigler) Kelley, and married to William H. Rice, who died in August 1948. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Thelma Kauffman, with whom she resided, Ralph of Greenwood, Mrs. Jennie Ritchey of Juniata, Mrs. Grace Bryner and Frank of Birch Harbor, ME: nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was one of the oldest members of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Juniata, a member of the Mizpah Bible Class.
