No sources, other that antonymous poster, wrote this indicating he may have been born in France: “He was less than three years of age when with his parents, he landed in Philadelphia, from there they went to Newburyport, MA, where they died. Occupation: Farm Laborer (‎12 Jun 1900 at Plainview, Wabasha County, Minnesota, United States) After wife Rebecca’s death in 1875, Morris moved to Minnesota with Stephen and eventually remarried. Other children were “put out” amoung neighbors, friends and relatives.@S22@ Return to the Interesting People page A Civil War Veteran who belonged to the “Pennsylvania Bucktails,” the 149th Pennsylvania Infantry (company B). Fought at the Battle of Gettysburg. Company B was organized out of Clearfield County, PA. He joined as a private on August 26, 1862. He was wounded at Weldon Railroad, Va., August 21, 1864; transferred to Veteran Reserve Corps, date unknown. This was the second fighting group known as the “Pennsylvania Bucktails”... aka the second bucktails, or new bucktails.
